Thank you so much for all of you that prayed for me and my situation as a Fire Captain in Lynchburg that radical LGBTQ+ activists are trying to cancel.

I have an update and request continued prayer. Last night, the federal judge in Lynchburg ordered the city to respond by close of business tomorrow as to why he should not grant our injunction that prevents them from terminating me. This is really a big deal, because we were able to prove how the fire department did a biased investigation and actually made up false claims out of thin air.

What I’m asking for is simple - I’m asking that you pray for the truth to set all of us free in this situation and for city employees to be able to freely express their convictions from their deeply held religious beliefs without fear of retaliation from local government. I’m also asking for you to pray for the judge to have compassion for the situation I am in and grant the injunction we are asking for.

Thank you so much for all the prayers. It was such a blessing to see dozens of people prayed while I was in my meeting yesterday and I was overcome by level of peace and clarity only God can provide.

My Pastor Jr. Westmoreland has tumor in cheek. May not be cancer. Biopsies taken. Jaw looks worse. Possible surgery to remove bone and tumor soon. Also has not had any taste for the past 4 months and has been losing weight. He has had cancer before and had it removed so please please pray for God's intervention on this. I am a Fire Captain in Lynchburg, and earlier this year I was attacked by a local LGBTQ+ organization for posting a political cartoon on social media in opposition to the Equality Act, and giving transgender adults access to public restrooms where children are. I stand by my belief because I know where God stands on this issue, and I am with Him!

They tried to have my “cancelled,” called for me to be fired, and so on. I filed a lawsuit proactively for free speech rights, right to free exercise of religion, and some other associated claims. This is an important fight right now.

I was promptly suspended by the Fire Chief for a “new investigation.” I just received the results of that, and it is based on lies and misrepresentations. This is literally a persecution for Christianity-based beliefs on morality.

They have notified me that they intend to terminate me from employment on October 19. I have a wife and 4 children, but I also know that God calls us to stand against evil, and that I am accountable to Him over man’s law. I am fighting this, and it is a righteous battle in a spiritual war that is alive and well in our country right now. I cannot stand by and let evil prevail.

I ask that you pray for peace and wisdom from God for me, my family, and my legal team. I also ask that you pray for the courage of others that are coming forward on my behalf. I also ask that you pray for my ability to provide for my family in the short term if we are not successful in getting the injunction we are filing for. This is a challenging time, but we must not back down from the battles God brings us into, because He wouldn’t bring us into them if He couldn’t carry us through them.

Prayers for a family friend who is facing a court battle from false accusations amidst a divorce. His faith is weak. Requesting prayers to strengthen his faith and for him to receive a wave of peace knowing that God is the only Judge and Jury if he just stands in his word, that he will deliver him out of all the evil Satan is TRYING to put him through. I appreciate all the additional support from members of the body of Christ. God bless you all!
