Matt Willmington

In a world of fear and famines, we often wonder where our provision will come from. But Psalm 34 reminds us that God hears us and will deliver us if we look to Him.

promise = declaration to deliver
God is STRONG, but we must STAND
God’s WORD demands our WORK
Today: God’s Promise to PROVIDE: Fear / Famine
Psalm 34 NKJV David pretending insanity to Abimelech

1. FEAR =

Psalm 34:4
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. 6 This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

WE seek, look, cry, fear.

GOD hears, delivers, encamps

“angel of the Lord” = Hagar, Abraham, Moses, Balaam, Gideon, Manoah, Elijah, Zachariah / shepherds, Joseph, JESUS, Peter

Psalm 125:2
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people

2.FAMINE =

8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! 9 Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. 10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

WE taste, see, trust, fear, seek.

GOD good, blessed, no lack of GOOD things

in NORMAL times – but there are TEMPT/TEST times

Isaiah 55:2
Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.

FEAR FORMULA =

11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord 12 Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good 13 Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. 14 Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

FEAR = listen+keep+speak+depart+do+seek+pursue
