The Most Important Thing

We’ve had an amazing year in 2019. God has blessed in incredible and eternal ways. But we are trusting God for more in 2020. SO MUCH MORE!

Ephesians 3:14-21 (NLT) When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. 20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

 

1. No limit to God’s greatness or God’s goodness

Vss 15-16 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

  • There is nothing God will hold back from you as it relates to His perfect will and way in your life
  • God will never call us to defeat or failure
  • God will never give us an impossible task
  • The key is making sure our direction is His path!

Jeremiah 32:17 O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!

 

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

 

2. Our contentment is based on our connection

Vs 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

  • The world is constantly looking for happiness
  • This is only possible through our connection to Him

3. God wants us to trust Him that much

Vs 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

  • His “covering” goes far beyond our human understanding
  • We attempt to define trusting God in human terms, this never works
  • His ways our not our ways – Isaiah 55:8

4. We will be complete

Vs 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

  • Our completeness in life doesn’t come from outward influences, it comes from within

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
