2017 Week 30 – I Samuel 15:22

Welcome to our 30th week of memorizing scripture together in 2017 – Our primary source for memorization is the NKJV.

This week is – I Samuel 15:22

So Samuel said:
“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.”

Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you this verse. Read the verse out loud 5 times a day, by yourself, with your family, with your Life Group.

NIV – But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.”

NLT – But Samuel replied,“What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.”

Spanish – Entonces Samuel dijo: —¿Acaso se complace Jehová tanto en los holocaustos y sacrificios como en la obediencia a las palabras de Jehová? Mejor es obedecer que sacrificar; prestar atención mejor es que la grasa de los carneros.

Korean – “여호와께서 번제와 그 밖의 제사 드리는 것을 순종하는 것보다 더 좋아하시겠소? 순종하는 것이 제사보다 낫고 여호와의 말씀을 듣는 것이 숫양의 기름보다 더 나은 것이오.”

Russian – И отвечал Самуил: неужели всесожжения и жертвы столько же приятны Господу, как послушание гласу Господа? Послушание лучше жертвы и повиновение лучше тука овнов;
